So, Gingrich would like a secretary of energy like Sarah Palin. Maybe he’ll take on Herman Cain for Defense. (What?!) Well, it is unlikely that he will have the opportunity to make any such foolish choices, but we are talking about the GOP, so who knows?
It is shaping up to be an interesting, not to mention amusing, contest for the Republican presidential candidate. Right now, my guess is that Romney will slog along to win the nomination, although I won’t rule out Ron Paul. All the others have had flashes of popularity, with Santorum being just the latest spark, in my opinion. Paul has a loyal base, but his ideas are pretty far from mainstream thinking. We will see.
I look forward Obama debating whoever comes up to take him on. I don’t agree with the President on everything, for instance, his signing of the new NDAA is troubling. Nonetheless, he is far and away a better leader than anyone the Republican Party has put forward. Positions on issues aside, all of the GOP candidates have serious flaws. I don’t need to list them here, the Daily Show does it better.
Stay tuned. This election year is going to be like a good horror movie — you’re never quite sure that the good guy is going to make it.
