Full disclosure: I am not a big WWE fan. I learned how to actually wrestle in high school gym class, and what we learned is not what is done in “professional wrestling.” If you are not familiar with the genre, South Park (mature content) has a pretty good description of what it is. Personally, I prefer to watch the real thing, at school meets or the Olympics.
There is, however, a similarity between professional wrestling and politics which I cannot ignore. After all, I am from Minnesota, the state that elected Jesse Ventura governor, and I like politics. I especially like when ridiculous politicians and political commentators are lampooned. So when Firedoglake posted this:
I was amused. In your face, Beck! I have gained some new respect for the WWE.
